Can I pass hsv2 through a kiss?
A while ago I found out I had hsv2 and apparently got it from my mother possibly from a young age. I was never aware until I got tested because I've had no outbreak or was I having any symptoms. I was in a relationship and we kissed some things happened and I just found out that she thinks I've passed my hsv2 her. Can I pass hsv2 through a kiss or cutt?.

Yes it can happen i have HSV-1 only genitally, and it was passed Genitally. I do not have HSV-2, but from what i have read and been told by plenty of sources. If Herpes is there, it can spread thru skin contact, it doesnt matter where it is. They can kiss you eyeball and u can get herpes on your eyeball.

From what I have read and speaking to my doctor, both hsv 1 and hsv 2 can be passed on orally. Though, it is rare for hsv 2 but not impossible. Wherever the virus is (i.e. mouth, genitalia) is where it can be passed on. That’s why it is good to know which type and where. I have hsv 1 G. I can pass this on via vaginal/oral sex.
Amendment to my first answer. Yes, it can be passed through a kiss. So can HSV-2 be passed. It is a virus and can remain dormant for years, then resurface. I hate having it. Got it from my first husband and was devastated. Doctor told me 60% of Americans have it. I deal with it now and make sure I'm not having an outbreak when I'm with someone.
HSV1 is the strain that can be passed through kissing, sharing utensils, drinks, things of that nature because its the oral form of herpes. However I think you would have to have an outbreak at the time to infect someone.
